Ethiopian Airlines has announced that it earned USD 7.6 billion in revenue during the 2024/25 fiscal year, marking an 8 percent increase compared to the previous year. Despite global challenges in the aviation sector, the airline recorded strong growth in both passenger and cargo operations.

The airline transported over 19 million passengers during the fiscal year, including 15.2 million international travelers and 3.9 million domestic passengers. The global aviation sector saw around 5 billion passengers overall during the same period.

Cargo operations also showed improvement, with 785,323 tons transported, a 4 percent increase from the previous year.

Ethiopian Airlines credited its success to a rapid growth strategy, which included the launch of six new international destinations over the fiscal year. This expansion comes despite ongoing global disruptions, including conflicts in various regions and a general slowdown in the world economy, which have placed pressure on the air transport industry.
