Ethiopia Enters Air Transport Agreements with 17 Countries

Ethiopia has entered into agreements with 17 countries across Africa, North and South America, Europe, and the Middle East to initiate and enhance air transport services.

The deal, signed at the annual air transport service negotiation conference in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, encompasses various conditions such as unlimited flights, expanded airline representation, traffic rights, and unrestricted access to additional destinations. Notable agreements include those with Nigeria, Ghana, Morocco, Eswatini, Sierra Leone, and Zimbabwe, allowing for unlimited flights. Agreements with Tanzania, Seychelles, and Gabon permit Ethiopian airlines to conduct additional flight loops in these countries.

Additionally, civil aviation agreements with Russia, England, Canada, Poland, Finland, Kuwait, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Suriname aim to broaden market opportunities by facilitating flight loops. These agreements are anticipated to boost Ethiopia's benefits from the aviation industry, with 97 countries participating in the international conference on air transport services in Saudi Arabia.

In similar news, Ethiopian Airlines resumed its flight to Madrid, Spain, which it had suspended for three and a half years. It is stated that the airline flies to Spain Madrid 4 times a week.
