Ethiopia Generated USD 2.9 Billion from Exports in 10 Months

The Ministry of Trade and Regional Integration has announced that it generated USD 2.912 billion from exports in the first ten months of the current fiscal year. This is short of the ministry's target of USD 4.24 billion.

The agricultural sector was the main contributor to export revenue, accounting for 78.26% of the total. The manufacturing sector accounted for 11.76%, while the meat and dairy industry recorded 2.62%, mining recorded 6.41%, and electricity and others registered 3.57%.

To maximize export trade, the Ministry has prepared and implemented a marketing guide for products of farming investment. The Ministry has also established working mechanisms to increase the supply of export products in terms of quantity. In addition, it held discussions with the government of Djibouti regarding the cost of Khat delivery.
