Ethiopia Earns USD 2 Billion from Agricultural Export

Ethiopia gained more than USD two billion in the past nine months from the export of agricultural commodities including coffee, khat, vegtables, poultry products, dairy products, and fruits.

During the 2021/22 meher farming season, Ethiopia exceeded the plan to produce 472 million quintals of crops by eight million. Additionally, the Ministry of Agriculture managed to cover 1.9 million hectares of land with different seeds in the autumn season, out of the planned 2.4 million hectares. With a view to improving product quality and productivity, the Ministry purchased 12.8 million quintals of soil fertilizer for the 2023/2024 meher season, with five million quintals already distributed to farmers.
