Ethiopia Earned USD 89.75 Million from Leather Export

Ethiopia has earned USD 89.75 million in revenue from leather export during the current Ethiopian Fiscal Year, according to Leather Industry Development Institute (LIDI).

LIDI Corporate Communication Director, Berhanu Serjebo, told WIC that about USD 74.65 million of the total from the total revenue was secured from finished leather products.

The amount earned in the reported period has increased by 4.9 million Ethiopian birr compared to the 84.88 million dollar earned in the previous year, Berhanu said.

However, the revenue is lower than the target USD 168.5 for the past nine months. Ethiopia project to earn USD 226.9 million from leather sector in the current budget year.
