Nirvana to Start Agro-Processing in Ethiopia

Bahir Dar Industrial Park

Nirvana Processing, an Indian Company, is set to commence agro-food processing in Ethiopia's Bahir Dar Industrial Park with a 5 million USD investment.

The Ethiopian government has established 13 industrial parks to encourage both domestic and foreign investors to participate in the manufacturing and agro-processing sector. Nirvana Processing is one of the recent entrants and plans to focus on food processing and organic food commodities. The company aims to begin operations by April 2024, creating 500 job opportunities.

Nirvana Processing has partnered with 5,500 small-scale farmers to ensure a sustainable supply of organic agricultural raw materials. The company plans to export its final products to Europe and America, expressing confidence in the agro-processing potential in Ethiopia. The government, particularly the Industrial Parks Development Corporation (IPDC), has supported such investments, recently signing USD 100 million investment agreements with local and foreign companies across industrial parks in the country.
