The Ethiopian Investment Commission (EIC) and the Industrial Parks Development Corporation of Ethiopia (IPDC) have signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with the China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC).

According to the MoUs, CCECC will establish operations in the Jimma Industrial Park to process coffee beans for export to international markets, thereby contributing to the success of the renowned Jimma coffee brand. The project aims to drive the transformation of the sector and create decent employment opportunities.

The MoUs were signed during a visit by high-ranking officials, including the Chief Commissioner of the Ethiopian Investment Commission, Lelise Neme, the CEO of the Industrial Parks Development Corporation, Aklilu Tadesse, China’s Ambassador to Ethiopia, Zhao Zhiyuan, and delegates of Chinese investors.
