GH Industrial, Ethiopia to Inaugurate New Factories

GH Industrial plc, manufacturer of gypsum board and gypsum flour in Ethiopia, is to inaugurate two factories in the Amhara Regional State.

The gypsum board factory has the capacity to produce 4.2 million m2 of gypsum boards, will the gypsum mill is able to produce 50 thousand tons of gypsum flour per annum said Awel Buseri, Vice General Manager with GH.

The factories were turnkey projects with components imported in China and installed by Chinese engineers he said. The project took two years from the initial feasibility study to the final installation according to Awel.

The factories will extract the raw materials that they require for operation form a location in Abay Gorge, identified as one of the most concentrated sources for gypsum rock reserves in the country.

GH produces Gypsum boards 9 to 15 centimeters thick and up to 1.2 to 3 meters long. The boards can be used for the construction of walls, floors and ceilings. Gypsum flour on the other hand is used as finishing material in constriction and as a component in the production of gypsum boars.

GH industrial was founded with an initial capital of 120 million birr with the aim of exporting its products to the regional market in addition to meeting the domestic demand.
