Ethiopian Capital Latest Member of Mobile Monday

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia has become the latest member of the Mobile Monday group dedicated to developing the mobile ecosystem domestically and internationally.

Addis Ababa joined the group during the Innovation African Digital Summit that took place here from the 27th to the 29th of March.

Mobile Monday family welcomes Addis Ababa and looks forward to future collaboration with the Information and Communication Technology Association-Ethiopia according to Jari Tammisto, Chief Executive and President of Mobile Monday Global.

Mobile Monday, which currently has 140 chapters across the globe, was founded by Finnish mobile enthusiasts Vesku Paananen and Peter Vesterbacka in 2000. The group was globalized by Jari Tammisto as an international network of mobile developers, industry influencers and investors.

ICT-ET is dedicated to exposing, engaging and enabling the ICT sector in Ethiopia including the Communication Technology, Information Technology and Broad Technology.

The initiative aims to connect the domestic ICT sector with the rest of the world and to engage the international sphere in the local scene according to Seyoum Bereded, President of ICT-ET.

ICT-ET collaborated with the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology to organize the recently held Innovation Africa Digital Summit, partnered with Google for G-Ethiopia and facilitated Disapora Dialogue he explained.

The association expects that the Mobile Monday family will place Ethiopia on the international ICT map which will contribute to attracting investors to the ICT Park under development in Addis Ababa noted Seyoum.
