The Ethiopian Roads Authority said, it has completed Some 86 per cent of construction of the 121km Etang-Jikawo /Lare/ asphalt road launched in Gambella regional state with over 775.5 million Ethiopian Birr.

Samson Wondimu, Communication Directorate Director with the Ethiopian Roads Authority told Ethiopian News Agency, the construction of the road is well in progress. Samson said so far asphalting of 100km of the total road is finalized and efforts are underway to fully complete construction of the road, which includes building of bridges and ditches, among others, during the current Ethiopian budget year.

The road is part of the Addis Ababa-Jimma-Gore-Gambella main road, connects three woredas of the state with the regional capital and also links the region with South Sudan.
