Fuel prices in Ethiopia have increased again, with white diesel rising to Birr 163.09 per liter and gasoline reaching Birr 142.41 per liter, according to information confirmed by Tikvah Ethiopia.

The new retail prices took effect from 12:00 midnight on April 1, 2026, based on a letter from the Ministry of Trade and Regional Cooperation. The Ministry said the adjustment was made in response to developments in global oil prices.

Under the revised pricing, white diesel is now selling at Birr 163.09 per liter, gasoline at Birr 142.41, kerosene at Birr 151.39, light black diesel at Birr 163.98, heavy black diesel at Birr 160.68, and jet fuel at Birr 150.48 per liter.

The latest increase comes just 21 days after the previous fuel price adjustment announced on March 11, 2026, by the Ministry of Trade and Regional Integration. In that earlier revision, white diesel had been priced at Birr 139.84 per liter, gasoline at Birr 132.18, kerosene at Birr 146.14, light black diesel at Birr 137.03, heavy black diesel at Birr 133.45, and jet fuel at Birr 145.23.

Compared with the March 11 prices, the new revision shows a sharp increase across all fuel categories. White diesel increased by about 16.6 percent, while gasoline rose by around 7.7 percent. Kerosene and jet fuel each recorded an increase of roughly 3.6 percent. The steepest adjustments were seen in black diesel products, with light black diesel rising by about 19.7 percent and heavy black diesel increasing by around 20.4 percent.

Tikvah Ethiopia said its checks at fuel stations in the Meseri area showed that the revised prices were already being applied. According to the outlet, station staff confirmed that gasoline was being sold at Birr 142.41 per liter and white diesel at Birr 163.09, with drivers purchasing fuel at the updated rates.
