Ethiopia: Ministry Increases Fuel Prices

The Ministry of Trade and Regional Integration announced adjustments to fuel prices, effective January 07, 2025. 

The price hike applies to gasoline, kerosene, white diesel, light black diesel, heavy black diesel, and jet fuel prices.

Gasoline, a widely used fuel for private and public transportation, now costs Birr 101.47 per liter, marking an 11.3% increase, or Birr 10.33 more per liter than the previous rate. 

Similarly, kerosene and white diesel have both seen a rise of 9.6%, with prices increasing by Birr 8.70 per liter. Jet fuel, now costs Birr 109.56 per liter, an increase of 9.3%, or Birr 9.36 more than before. The prices of light black diesel and heavy black diesel are increased to Birr 108.30 and 105.97, respectively.
