Ministry of Mines announced the awarding of mining licenses to four companies. The signing ceremony was attended by Minister of Mines Habtamu Tegegn and company executives.

These licenses, valued at over Birr 3 billion in total investment, represent the successful culmination of a rigorous selection process. As decided by the 27th regular meeting of the Council of Ministers, the chosen companies will be responsible for developing bromine, granite, coal, and alluvial gold mines.

The Ministry of Mines highlighted that these companies emerged from a competitive selection process. Prior success in acquiring mineral exploration licenses was a key factor, along with their ability to meet both technical and financial requirements for mine production. This assessment was supported by data analysis from previous studies on the targeted resources.

The companies receiving production licenses include Jereh Chemical Industrial PLC, Rafiq Husni Farisalqub, Sekoya Mining and Processing PLC, and Oromia Mining S.C.
