Addis Prefab Wins $53.3 Million Contract in South Sudan

Ethiopian company Addis Prefab Houses Manufacturing Industry won a 53.3 million US dollar contract from US based New Orleans Consultancy to construct 888 prefabricated houses in South Sudan.

The contract was signed in Addis Ababa between Yonas Tessema, General Manager of New Orleans Consultancy and Fikremariam Alemu, Chief Executive of Addis Prefab. The agreement between Addis Prefab and New Orleans was two months in the making.

Addis Prefab will receive the first half of the total payment upon submitting a pro forma invoice and will receive the difference upon delivery.

The contract calls for a Complete-Knock-Down-Process which means that the prefabricated houses are shipped completely disassembled to be assembled at the other end.

The deal struck between the two is part of the 450 million US dollar housing contract that New Orleans won from the government of South Sudan.

New Orleans selected Addis Prefab because of its successful entry into the market according to Yared Gebregziabher, senior official of Addis Prefab.

In related news Addis Prefab laid the corner stone to construct its factory on 50 thousand meter squares of land it had acquired in Sendafa where it will install light steel framing technology to become operational within the next 2 months.
