construction Exhibition Opened in Addis Ababa

A construction exhibition opened in Addis Ababa yesterday with record levels of participation. Forty five domestic and international companies are participating in the exhibition. Most of the companies represented at the exhibition are from Turkey while nine are domestic and the rest are from Europe and Asia.

The construction exhibition has more nine more exhibitors than last year, including three more local firms according to the organizers of the four day event.

Turkish companies are dominating the Expo due to tax incentives offered by the Turkish government to promote the quality and competitiveness of Turkish goods and services according to Mert Gul, Event Director for Turkish International Fair Organizer, Expotim.

The Expo is expected to offer more motivation to the significance of the growing construction sector in Ethiopia said Gul.

There are still some challenges in Ethiopia for international companies engaged in investment activity in Ethiopia including strict customs procedures although there is an ongoing negotiation with the Ministry of Trade to enable international companies to invest in Ethiopia.

Expotim has promoted the event extensively with the aim of building solid and lasting networks between domestic and international companies explained Mert.

The Addis Build Exhibition managed to initiate several business deals and agreements between domestic and Turkish companies in the aftermath of the Expo last year said Haimanot Tesfaye Managing Director of Haymi Advertising Service a partner of the expo organizer.

It is planned to sell products at the exhibition next year as well as expanding the exhibition to cover all three halls of the center according to Haimanot.
