The Ethiopian Capital Market Authority has granted licenses to three new capital market service providers, increasing the total number of licensed providers in the country from 18 to 21.

The newly licensed firms are PrizeWorth Investment Bank S.C., which received an investment banking license, and BluFin Capital Advisory PLC and Lumina Capital PLC, which were licensed as securities investment advisers.

The Authority also approved the licensing of 10 appointed representatives and the appointment of 15 board directors for the three firms.

ECMA Director General Hana Tehelku formally presented the licenses to representatives of the companies during a ceremony held at the Authority’s head office on July 10, 2026.

Following the latest approvals, the number of licensed investment banks in Ethiopia has increased to eight, while the number of licensed securities investment advisers has reached 11.

The Authority said the licenses were granted after completion of its application review process.

Speaking at the licensing ceremony, Tehelku congratulated the newly licensed firms and called on them to provide services with professional competence and integrity. She also urged the companies to promote investor inclusion and maintain a consistent focus on the public interest.

The addition of the three firms expands the number of institutions authorized to provide regulated services in Ethiopia’s developing capital market.
