M-Pesa Safaricom has officially launched a digital fuel payment service at the Bole Total Energies gas station in Addis Ababa, enabling customers to pay for fuel directly through their mobile phones.
The new service aims to offer a fast, secure, and convenient payment solution for drivers, streamlining the process of fueling vehicles using digital technology.
Speaking at the launch event, M-Pesa Safaricom CEO Elsa Muzzolini stated, “Today we take another exciting step in our journey to simplify lives through digital solutions.” She added that the new payment system is designed to be user-friendly and accessible for all customers.
The launch was attended by State Minister for Transport and Logistics Bareo Hassan, who joined CEO Muzzolini in unveiling the new service.
According to company officials, this initiative is part of M-Pesa’s broader mission to expand the use of digital financial services across Ethiopia and modernize everyday transactions.
