Zemen Bank, Ethiopia Nominates President

Anteneh Assefa, Vice President of Operations at the Bank of Abyssinia has been nominated as the president of Zemen Bank, Ethiopia. The Board of Directors of Zemen Bank has submitted its nomination to the National Bank of Ethiopia.

The last president of Zemen Bank Brutawit Dawit resigned earlier this year for personal reasons. Helawi Tadesse, Senior Vice President has been acting president ever since. The board of Zemen decided upon a nominee after serious deliberation assessing professionals in the banking sector according to sources.

Anteneh will come to Zemen from the Bank of Abyssinia if the National Bank accepts his nomination. He has 11 years of experience in banking beginning from the position of graduate trainee at the Commercial Bank of Ethiopia.

Anteneh received his first degree from Addis Ababa University in Management and a graduate degree from the University of Paris (Sorbonne) in Corporate Management & Finance.

The nomination has been received by NBE according to sources but no official collaboration have been received from any of the parties involved.
