Awash International Bank S.C Ethiopia announced a net profit of 394.4 million birr for the last financial year. The profits earned 
by the bank are the highest in the bank’s history according to the announcement.
Awash grossed 9 billion 565 million birr in the past fiscal year according to Tsehay Shiferaw, President of the Bank.
The bank is committed to increasing its deposits and has been able to exceed the deposits in the previous budget by 9.4% to reach 10 billion 185 million birr noted Tsehay.
Awash is expanding its branches nationwide and is enhancing its technological capacity by installing a Core Banking System in an effort to enhance its accessibility and to offer better quality and reliable services to its customers he noted.Awash is also partnering with Nib International Bank and United Bank to launch Premier Switch Solutions a joint effort designed to offer customers smooth intra bank services. The service is in the last steps of finalizing processes and will be launched soon to offer common ATM services explained Tsehay.
Awash International Bank currently operates 88 branch offices giving service to more than 690 thousand customers. The bank has paid up capital in excess of 912 million birr and has total assets of 13 billion birr.
