Enat Bank to Begin Operations in October

Enat Bank SC, Ethiopia expects to launch operations in October. The bank has already rented office space on the Bambis Road in Addis Ababa and is undertaking infrastructural work to facilitate its formal launch in October according to Fasika Kebede, President of the Bank.

The bank plans on focusing on establishing branches across Addis Ababa, with a view of solidifying its position in the sector, in the 2012-13 fiscal year explained Fasika.

The bank will open regional branches in the next fiscal year as per its program she added.

The number of shareholders of Enat has reached 7122 with an approximate subscribed capital of 250 million birr according to Fasika.

It is to be remembered that he National Bank of Ethiopia accepted Fasika Kebede as the founding president of Enat Bank in May after two previous nominees failed.

Fasika served with the Commercial Bank of Ethiopia for 24 years after graduating from Addis Ababa University in 1981. She conducted Post Graduate Studies in the University of Wales, UK. Fasika served with the Ethiopian Red Cross Society for five years before retiring to private business.

As president of Enat her priorities will be to ensure services that put clients first said Fasika expressing her happiness that her nomination was accepted by the National Bank of Ethiopia.
