Lufthansa Looking to Enhance Partnership with Ethiopian Airline

Lufthansa, the German-based airliner is to  enhance its partnership with Ethiopian in 2013, according to a press briefing held in Addis Ababa on June 10, 2013.

Lufthansa is aiming to enhance its stake by five percent in 2013 from the previous year, Carsten Schaeffer, Lufthansa's vice-president for sales and services, South-East Europe, Middle East and Africa said.

In 2012, more than 80,000 passengers were served through the partnership between Lufthansa and Ethiopian, however, Carsten  declined to reveal the revenue collected from the services. Standard's Council to Approve Additional National Standards

Ethiopia's National Standards Council is expected to approve 1,098 national standards in its meeting to be held this coming Thursday, according to the Ethiopian Standards Agency.

Daniel Zenebe, Communication and Public Relations Head with the Agency, told Walta Information Center that, standards dealing with agriculture, food, textiles and leather, construction, engineering, chemical products, electro mechanical and health are among the sectors expected to be approved by the Council. Ethiopian Academy of Sciences Officially Launched

The Ethiopian Academy of Sciences officially launched on Thursday, June 20, 2013. The Ethiopian Ministry of Science and Technology has pledged to provide the necessary support to the Academy.
