The fourth round of the City's land lease auction held on July 24, 2013 attracted bids as high as 26,202 Ethiopian Birr for a square meter, Fortune reported.

The latest auction is the fourth round since the enactment of the revised lease holding of urban lands law in 2012. The Addis Ababa Land Bank and Transfer Agency announced a tender for auctioning of 95 plots on 40,000 meter of land on July 9, 2013. The plots were located in Akaki Kaliti, Bole, Yeka, Kirkos, Arada and Kolfe Keranio districts of the city. Add a comment Add a comment

dVentus Technologies, an Ethiopian clean energy company received a US$3 million from members of the Ethiopia Angel Network.

Ethiopian Angel Investment Network, part of RENEW, is an investment firm dealing mostly with potential business in developing countries announced signing of Memorandum of Understanding with dVentus last week.

The Ethiopian Commodity Exchange is to introduce mung beans to its trading floor. The Ethiopian Commodity Exchange Authority, the supervisory body of the ECX has approved the plan on Friday 26 July, 2013. The primary reason for the inclusion of mung beans is the rise in the export of legumes in last three years, Fortune reported.

"There is a remarkable surplus which can be traded through the ECX and bring benefit to farmers", Addis Alem Balema, Director General of the Authority told Fortune.

Ethiopia has earned US$123.44 million from export of leather products in the concluded Ethiopian Fiscal Year, according to the Ethiopian Leather Industry Development Institute.
