Training on Ensuring Aviation Safety in Africa Kicked Off in Ethiopia

civil-aviationA week long training on ensuring aviation safety in Africa kicked off in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia on Monday, November 4, 2013.

Ethiopian Transport State Minister Getachew Mengiste on the event said, the training plays an important role in ensuring aviation safety in Africa. He said stakeholders in Africa must work in cooperation to address challenges related with aviation safety.

Harari State Earned over 9 million Birr from Tourism in Q1

Harari State has earned over nine million Ethiopian birr revenue from tourists who visited tourist attraction sites in the state during the first quarter of the current fiscal year, the State culture, tourism and heritages bureau said.

Tourism Director with the Bureau Yasmin Zekaria told Ethiopian News Agency on Saturday, over 17,150 foreign and local tourists has visited tourist attractions in the regional state. Some 3,143 of the visitors are foreigners from Africa, Asia, Australia and Europe.

Ethiopia: EIA Licensed 244 New Investment Projects in Q1

Latest data from the Ethiopian Investment Agency (EIA) revealed that 28 new projects in the industry sector has gone operational during the first three months of the fiscal year, Walta Information Center reported.

The 28 new industrial investment ventures have a combined capital of over two billion Ethiopian birr.

Ethiopia Postponed Submission of Documents for Fourth Round Negotiations with WTO

Ethiopia delayed submission of documents, including its service offer, for its fourth round of negotiations with the working party members of the World Trade Organisation (WTO), Fortune reported.

The submissions has been originally scheduled for September, however, it has been postponed for an unspecified time as the documents are not finalized yet.
