Dalol Oil Ethiopia Launches Operation

Dalol Oil Share Company, Ethiopia has launched operations according to a statement released by the company.

The company has begun operations with four fuel stations and a depot becoming the fourth domestic fuel retailer in Ethiopia.

Dalol is set to open two more stations in Hawassa and Wolenchiti where the company’s depot is also located.The company also expects to set up fuel stations in Gondar, Jijiga, Hossana and Semera regional towns.

It is to be remembered that the domestic oil company signed an agreement with the Ethiopian Petroleum Enterprise to obtain its operational permit and launch services last month.

Esayas Yeyesuwork Chief Executive Officer of Dalol signed an agreement with Yigzaw Mekonnen, Director General Imports and Distribution of Ethiopian Petroleum Enterprise signed the agreement after the Ministry of Trade gave its final approval.

The Ministry of Trade required the oil company to construct a 500,000 liter depot and a minimum of two filling stations and issued the license on the condition that the Company finalize the construction of the depot and filling stations over the next six months according to Nuredin Mohammed, Head of Registration and Licensing at the MoT.

Dalol Oil was established with a paid up capital of 65 million birr and 1230 shareholders. It’s four fuel stations are currently in operation in Arba Minch, Suluta, Hamusit and Genda Wuha regional towns according to a statement offered by Dereje Waleligne, Chariman of the Board of Directors of Dalol.
