
The 7th edition of the Agro Food trade fair officially opened at the Millennium Hall in Addis Ababa, bringing together participants from 14 countries, including China, Germany, India, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and the United Arab Emirates.
The event, which runs until June 21, 2025, was inaugurated by Minister of Industry Deeta Hassan Mohamed, Turkish Ambassador Berk Baran, and Brazilian Ambassador Jean-Claude Ferreira dos Santos.
In his opening remarks, Minister Hassan Mohamed emphasized Ethiopia’s ongoing efforts to boost the efficiency and competitiveness of the agro-industrial sector. He noted that the government is actively working to establish agro-industrial parks and attract both local and foreign investment to the sector.
The trade fair is designed to foster business partnerships and facilitate knowledge exchange among companies engaged in agriculture, food production, and related industries. More than 130 companies are participating, showcasing a wide range of products and services, including agricultural inputs, food and beverage items, plastic, printing, and packaging technologies.
The event is jointly organized by the Ministry of Industry, German-based Fairtrade, and Ethiopian event management firm Prana Events, underscoring the country’s commitment to promoting agro-industrial development through international collaboration.
