A trade delegation composed of several companies from Belgium and Luxembourg is set to visit Ethiopia from June 1 - 4, 2025, as part of a broader initiative to explore trade and investment opportunities in the country.

The visit was announced following a trade and investment networking event held in Brussels, jointly organized by the Ethiopian Embassy in Brussels and the Belgium-Luxembourg-Africa-Caribbean-Pacific Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CBL-ACP). The event was part of a promotional program designed to introduce Ethiopia’s growing market to potential investors from the Benelux region.

More than 40 companies from Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg participated in the event, alongside representatives from the Ethiopian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ethiopian Investment Commission, Ethiopian Airlines Group, the Addis Ababa Chamber of Commerce and Sectorial Associations, and other invited guests.

In his address, Ethiopian Ambassador to the Benelux countries and the European Union institutions, H.E. Eshete Tilahun, highlighted Ethiopia’s vast market potential and invited business actors to explore opportunities in key sectors such as agriculture, agro-processing, pharmaceuticals, tourism, mining, and Information and Communications Technology (ICT). He also assured participants that the Ethiopian government was committed to providing the necessary support to investors.

The Belgian Ambassador to Ethiopia, H.E. Anneliese Verstichel, and the Luxembourg Ambassador to Ethiopia, H.E. Jean Krauser, joined the event virtually. Both ambassadors emphasized the profitability and viability of investing in Ethiopia and expressed their governments’ commitment to supporting potential investors from their respective countries.

Dominique Vian, Vice President of the CBL-ACP, reaffirmed the chamber’s dedication to working closely with Ethiopian partners and supporting the upcoming delegation’s visit to ensure a fruitful engagement.

According to the Ethiopian Embassy in Brussels, discussions during the Investment and Trade Promotion Forum also focused on the logistics and objectives of the upcoming visit, underscoring the mutual interest in deepening trade and investment ties between Ethiopia and the Benelux countries.
