
The Ethiopia-Japan Trade and Investment Symposium commenced today in Addis Ababa, bringing together over 50 Japanese company representatives, government officials, and key stakeholders.
State Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Mesganu Arga, emphasized Ethiopia and Japan's strong historical ties, urging deeper business and trade collaboration. He highlighted the nation’s macroeconomic reforms, which create favorable conditions for Japanese investors, and called on technology and business firms to explore opportunities across various sectors.
Minister of Trade and Regional Integration, Dr. Kassahun Gofe, assured attendees of the Ethiopian government’s commitment to supporting Japanese investors through the reforms that promote a conducive investment climate.
Japanese Ambassador Shibata Hironori underscored Ethiopia’s attractiveness as an investment destination, noting increased interest from Japanese private-sector companies.
The symposium, co-organized by Ethiopia’s Foreign Affairs and Trade Ministries, aims to strengthen economic ties and showcase Ethiopia’s wide-ranging investment opportunities.
