Radisson Blu Hotel Opens in Ethiopia

Radisson Blu Hotel opened as the third international hospitality chain in Ethiopia. The hotel is situated in a nine storey building found in the Kazanchis area of Addis Ababa.

The hotel has 204 rooms, including 44 business class, 16 luxury suites and one presidential suite. On opening it offers partial restaurant, bar and café services. ‘The Signature’ bar can serve a total of 132 people at one time while a luxury French restaurant ‘Verres en Vers’ can seat 144 customers.

The café located on the first floor of the hotel serves coffee from well know local brand Tomoca according to hotel officials.

The hotel has nine ballrooms which can seat more than 300 guests named after native trees and Ethiopian kings. The smallest hall can hold 30 people,.

The Radission Blu, Addis Ababa is fully non smoking except some defined areas on the 2nd and the 8th floors.

The hotel is said to cost an estimated 500 million birr according to unofficial sources.

The Radisson Blu Hotels are operated by the Rezidor Hotel Group. The Rezidor Group operates the Park INN by Radisson and Country Inns and Suites as well as the Radisson Blu Hotels in Africa, Europe and the Middle East.
