African Fine Coffees Conference to be Held in Ethiopia

The 9th African Fine Coffees Conference and Exhibition is to be held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The conference will include more than 1,500 buyers, producers, traders, marketers and equipment and input dealers. 

Participants will showcase their products at the exhibition noted the Eastern African Fine Coffees Association, organizing the Conference.  

The timing of the Conference is ideal as world prices for coffee are currently at a new high boosting the confidence of producers inclined to abandon coffee crop according to conference organizers.

The conference aims to raise issues of sustainable production systems, climate change, market outlook, growing potential of Robusta and to learn from the Ethiopian experience amongst others.

The event is expected to play a significant role in building a positive image for Ethiopia, as well as promoting knowledge transfer and creating market connections according to Abdullah Bagersh General Manager of the Ethiopian Chapter of the Eastern African Fine Coffees Association.

The exhibition will also serve as a significant platform for highlighting the best coffees in Ethiopia said Bagersh. It is also expected that the event will create opportunities for buyers and sellers to create trade relations.

Participants are expected to attend the conference from China, Germany, Japan, Israel, Korea, Sweden, Yemen, South America, USA and Yemen as well as EAFCA chapters. 

Key note speakers are expected to include Abdullah Bagersh EAFCA Chapter Head anf Dr. Eleni Gebere Madhin, CEO of Ethiopian Commodity Exchange amongst others.
