Ethiopia: Documents Authentication and Registration Service to Fully Digitalize Services

Federal Documents Authentication and Registration Service (DARS) revealed that it was working to fully digitalize its services aiming to deliver reliable and speedy services to its customers. The institution’s 80% of services are already being delivered online.

DARS signed a partnership agreement with Ethio Telecom in September last year to advance the latter's working system and increase customer satisfaction by modernizing the working system of the institution. The agreement allowed the customers of DARS to pay service charges for authentication services such as authentication of vehicle sale, donation, power of attorney, rental and loan agreement, memorandum of association, and other services using Telebirr, a digital payment system.

DARS has 14 branch offices in Addis Ababa. It receives an average of Birr 6.5 million daily for its services from more than 7 thousand visitors.
