The Ethiopian Coffee and Tea Authority issued a guideline to boost the growth and revenue of Ethiopia's coffee production. This guideline is expected to allow the Authority to collaborate with the International Trade Center and enhance the supply and marketing of coffee products in the value chain of the sector.
The guideline will strengthen cooperation with stakeholders in the coffee value chain, increase income from coffee trade, and establish a system to provide training to coffee cultivators. It will also improve the competitiveness of small farmers.
Adugna Debela (PhD), Executive Director of the Authority, emphasized that the guideline included operational strategies that were essential in coffee development and marketing. In addition, he stressed the significance of strengthening the continental trade network and offering value-added coffee to foreign markets to increase Ethiopia's revenue from coffee cultivation.
