The 13th All Africa Leather Fair, Africa’s largest leather and leather products exhibition, will be held between April 20 and 22 in Addis Ababa.
Ethiopian Leather Industries Association revealed that over 200 traders including tanners, footwear and leather goods manufacturers, leather garment producers, machinery and input suppliers, knowledge and technology institutions, logistics providers, and financial institutions were expected to showcase their products in the exhibition which would attract 15,000 local and 2,000 foreign visitors.
It is hoped that the exhibition will help in re-igniting the leather industry and reversing its downturn which occurred due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The leather and leather products industry is one of the leading manufacturing sectors in Ethiopia. The country mainly exports finished leather followed by shoe exports. Huajian Group, one of the largest shoe exporters in China, is currently producing shoes in Ethiopia for international brands such as Guess and Calvin Klein.
