The World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (WAIPA) welcomed the Ethiopian Investment Commission (EIC) as its official member. EIC stated that it would proactively engage with WAIPA and its member states in investment promotion, facilitation, aftercare, and advocacy works.

Lelise Neme, Commissioner of EIC, stated that EIC expected WAIPA to facilitate a stronger and impactful linkage with partner institutions and work on the design and delivery of tailored human resources capacity building and world-class training programs offered to EICs core staff.

WAIPA was established in 1995 by UNCTAD and 50 other Investment Promotion Agencies in Geneva as a non-governmental organization.
