Ethiopia: The Sixth Africa Business Forum to be Held on February 20

ECA LOGO LOGOThe sixth Africa Business Forum will be held in Addis Ababa on February 20, 2023, under the theme “Making Carbon Markets Work for Africa”. It is expected that African political leaders, representatives of the African Union Commission, private sector companies interested in the development of carbon markets, civil society organizations, international finance organizations, and development partners will participate in the forum.

According to the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), the participants of the forum will discuss fighting climate change using carbon marketing tools and developing the African economy by increasing investment in the sector. The forum will also allow the Governments of African Countries and the private sector to continue discussions on ways to accomplish 2030 Sustainable Development Goals and Agenda 2063.

The Africa Business Forum started in 2018 and is organized by UNECA and African Export-Import Bank. The themes of the previous editions of the Forum were as follows: investment in 2018; health in 2019; investing in people, the planet and prosperity in 2020; innovative finance to build towards the Sustainable Development Goals in 2021; and investing in multimodal transport and tourism infrastructure to optimize the benefits of the African Continental Free Trade Area in 2022.
