Ethiopia: Eight Companies to Enter Blubula Agro Integrated Industry Park

Bulbula Eight Companies Agreement

Oromia Industrial Park Development Corporation (OIPDC) inked agreements with eight local and foreign companies that would join Bulbula Integrated Agro Industrial Park. The companies will be engaged in tomato processing and the production of avocado oil, animal fodder, and dairy products.

The eight agro processing companies have registered a combined capital of Birr 1.7 billion. It is expected that they will supply their products to domestic and international markets.

Bulbula Integrated Agro-Industrial Park occupies 271 hectares of land and was inaugurated in May last year in the presence of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed. The agro-industrial park which is located between Lake Langano and Lake Abiyata includes a bank, a waste treatment plant, a health clinic, a police station, training centers, and managerial facilities.

According to the Ministry of Industry, the park has the capacity to host 135 investors. It is also estimated that the park will create jobs for more than 100,000 people once it becomes fully operational.
