Ethiopia Secures USD 2 Billion FDI in Six Months

Ethiopia attracted USD 2 billion foreign direct investment (FDI) in the first half of the current fiscal year. The figure shows an increment of 22.3% when compared to the first six months of the 2021/2022 fiscal year.

The Ministry of Planning and Development also announced during a performance evaluation event which was prepared together with the Office of the Prime Minister that the country’s economy is projected to grow by 7.5% during the current fiscal year. In addition, 1.5 million jobs were created nationwide during the past six months.

Ethiopia managed to attract USD 4.3 billion FDI in 2021 and was ranked among the top FDI destinations in Africa in 2021 by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development.
