
Pakistan’s Arif Habib Group showed interest to invest in cement, fertilizer, and steel manufacturing in Ethiopia. Ethiopian Investment Commission’s (EIC) Commissioner Lelise Nemie met with the CEO of the Group Muhammad Kashif and Ethiopian Ambassador to Pakistan H.E Jamal Baker yesterday.
Arif Habib Group is one of the fastest growing multi-sector groups in Pakistan. The Group’s main investment areas include securities brokerage, investment and financial advisory, private equity, investment management, fertilizer manufacturing, cement, steel, real estate, dairy, energy, and textile mills.
In November last year, the Ethiopian Embassy in Pakistan announced that a business delegation from Pakistan would visit Ethiopia between January 16 and 20, 2023 to explore import-export investment opportunities.
The annual trade between Pakistan and Ethiopia is estimated to be between USD 7 million and USD 8 million. The two countries have set a target to increase this trade value to USD 300 million per year.
