Ethiopian Enterprise Development (EED) distributed loans totaling Birr 1.1 billion within the first half of this fiscal year to boost the capacity of enterprises. EED was also able to create employment opportunities for 13,774 individuals by establishing 1,647 new enterprises during the same period.

In August 2022, EED announced that operating loans totaling ETB 1.66 billion would be distributed to 1,591 manufacturing enterprises through banks and microfinance institutions. EED also stated that production equipment worth ETB 1.6 billion would be provided to 1,430 enterprises.

The institution was able to distribute a Birr 1.47 billion loan to 1,420 enterprises during the 2021/2022 fiscal year while 1,523 manufacturing enterprises collectively received equipment worth ETB 1.5 billion.
