Ethiopia: Bunna Bank to Build a New Headquarters in Addis Ababa

Bunna Bank announced that it was preparing to build a new headquarters in Addis Ababa. This was announced during the bank’s 13th general meeting which was held on Sunday.

Ambassador Alemayehu Sewagegn, Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Bank, indicated during the meeting that Bunna Bank was working hard to secure a plot of land for the construction of its new headquarters. He stated that the bank had settled lease payment and was prepared to receive 4,530 square meters of land in the area known as Hotel D’Afrique, Addis Ababa.

The Chairperson also announced that the profit of the bank reached Birr 1.19 billion in the 2021/2022 fiscal year. The bank also managed to increase its customer base by 41.2% during the same year. It now has 572,334 customers across the country.

In the last fiscal year, deposit amounts increased by Birr 6.7 billion and a total of Birr 27.2 billion was deposited at the bank. In addition, Bunna’s total assets increased by Birr 8.16 billion during the fiscal year to reach Birr 34.1 billion. The bank also opened 58 new branches during the 2021/2022 fiscal year increasing the bank’s branches to 343.
