Mines Resource Development Bureau of Amhara Regional State gave inspection licenses to 11 investors who would engage in cement manufacturing. The investors are expected to start construction after concluding their tests. Two companies have already started constructing their factories.

According to the Mines Resource Development Bureau of the Regional State, seven cement companies were issued with a license to start cement production in Amhara including National Cement and Berenta Cement which launched construction in Ensaro, Northern Shewa and Berenta, Eastern Gojam, respectively. It is expected that National Cement will finish construction and start production within one year.
