Ethiopia Strives to Export 230,000 Metric Tons of Sesame, Association

Ethiopian Pulses, Oilseed and Spices Processors-Exporters Association (EPOSPEA) announced that Ethiopia plans to export 230,000 metric tons of sesame. With a view to making the goal a reality, EPOSPEA is engaged in capacity building activities which are targeted at exporters.

As part of the capacity building schemes, the Association provides information regarding demand and supply of local and international markets and profiles of strategic buyers and facilitates export related services. The Association also provides capacity building supports to farmers with a goal of improving yield and pesticide usage.

Ethiopia exported 210,666 tons of pulses in the 2021/2022 fiscal year such as soya bean, green mung beans, white peas beans, and black kidney beans.
