Amhara Regional State announced that two cement factories were under construction in its region. According to the Mines Resource Development Bureau of the Regional State, seven cement companies were issued with a license to start cement production in Amhara including National Cement and Berenta Cement which launched construction in Ensaro, Northern Shewa and Berenta, Eastern Gojam, respectively. It is expected that National Cement will finish construction and start production within one year.

Several companies have invested in Amhara to extract and sell mineral resources including gold. The Regional State was able to provide 46 kilograms of gold to the market in the past three months. In addition, two companies are currently engaged in quarrying granite in the region.
