Ethiopia: Dashen’s Profit Grew by 57% in the 2021/2022 Fiscal Year

Dashen Bank revealed that it was able to record high profit in the 2021/2022 fiscal year. It also stated that it increased its reach, generated new customers, and collected higher deposits in the same year. The bank’s profit before tax was registered to be Birr 3.8 billion during the fiscal year, 57% higher than the profit recorded during the 2020/2021 financial year.

At the 29th annual general meeting of the bank, it was reported that the total assets of Dashen reached Birr 117.14 billion and the bank’s paid up capital registered Birr 6.9 billion.

Dashen Bank, which is named after mount Dashen, was founded in 1995 with an initial capital of Birr 14.9 million. It started operation in 1996 with 11 branches. The bank currently has 442 branches, 9 forex bureaus, 389 ATMs, and 1,283 Point-of Sale (POS) nationwide.
