Ethiopia: New Transmission Lines and Distribution Stations to be Constructed in the 2022/2023 Fiscal Year

Ethiopian Electric Power (EEP) announced that eight transmission lines and distribution station projects including the 230/33 KV substation in Beqoji and the 230/33/15 KV substation in Debretabor were planned to be constructed in the 2022/2023 fiscal year. EEP also stated that a substation for Geda Economic Zone which was going to be constructed in Adama would be built.

It is to be recalled that EEP signed an agreement in September with Hyosung Corporation, a South Korean company for the construction of the Southern Electricity Grid Expansion Project. The company will be engaged in building new power transmission lines and distribution stations on the Southern Electricity Grid. It is also expected to build a 420KM long electricity transmission line and construct, test, and inspect three new substations.
