Ethio telecom signed a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Innovation and Technology, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Accounting and Auditing Board of Ethiopia with a view to enabling customers of the Ministry pf Foreign Affairs and Accounting and Auditing Board of Ethiopia pay their service fees using Telebirr.

The understanding between the four entities will allow those who visit the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to settle their service fees for document authentication services easily while the customers of Accounting and Auditing Board of Ethiopia can pay through telebirr for certificate of registration, renewal of registration certificate, and issuance of temporary registration certificate.

Visitors of the two institutions can make payments for the services they receive on www.eservices.gov.et. Users have to select the service providing organization and service type and fill the application form online following the application and service payment procedures in order to benefit from the payment system.

It is to be recalled that Ethio Telecom signed a similar agreement with Documents Authentication and Registration Service (DARS) at the beginning of this month which allows customers of DARS to pay service charges for authentication services using Telebirr.

Telebirr is a digital payment system which has close to 23 million customers and Birr 26.6 billion transaction value.
