The Ministry of Trade and Technology announced that it was drafting a new directive on commercial registration and licensing. The Ministry aims to ease the process of doing business and bolster private sector engagement by amending the existing Commercial Registration and Licensing Directive. The draft Directive also aims at regulating contrabandists and inflation.

Discussions were held on the draft Directive with stakeholders from the private sector. The Ministry noted that it would consider the suggestions and comments of the participants of the discussions while amending the draft document.

In addition to drafting a new Directive, the Ministry has implemented a digital licensing and registration platform which helps investors to access the registration and licensing service online.
