Japan’s Impack to Increase Flower Import from Ethiopia

Japan’s Impack Corporation revealed its plan to increase the volume of its annual rose flower imports from Ethiopia by five-fold. The corporation stated this during a meeting with Ethiopian Ambassador to Japan Tefera Derbew. 

MAY 30 Japan ImpackImpack’s Chairman Tomokazu Morishige and its President Hekiro Morishige noted that the corporation was importing two million rose flower stems from Ethiopia and working towards increasing demand for Ethiopia’s rose flowers in Japan.

The company envisaged to host rose flower exhibitions in October and November 2022 and February next year which would attract horticulture producers, flower researchers, and flower retailing supermarkets in Japan, it was reported.

Impack Corpoartion, which was founded in 1936 and established as a corporation in 1968, joined the business of selling fresh flowers directly to consumers in recent years.
