The Korean Steel Manufacturer POSCO is to provide support in steel production in Ethiopia. Ethiopia's Minister of Mines and Petroleum Takele Uma said he has held discussions with POSCO's executives and experts.

POSCO's support in steel production comes upon the inviation from Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, it has been learned.

The support effort has started on April 13, 2022, in collaboration of POSCO's team and experts of the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum, Mr. Takele said in a tweet.

POSCO is a South Korean steel-making company headquartered in Pohang, South Korea. It had an output of 42,000,000 metric tons of crude steel in 2015, making it the world's fourth-largest steelmaker by this measure. In 2010, it was the world's largest steel manufacturing company by market value.
