Ethiopia Earns $2.52Bn from Eight-Month Exports

eight-month-exports-infographicEthiopia has earned $2.52 billion from eight-month exports, the Ministry of Trade and Regional Integration related. The amount stands at 91 percent of the targeted $2.77 billion export earnings for the period.

GebreMeskel Chala, Minister of Trade and Regional Integration, made the announcement while briefing the House of Peoples' Representatives on the eight-month performance of the Ministry.

Compared to the same period last year, the export earnings have shown a twenty percent increase, amounting to $2.1 billion.

During the period, agriculture has remained the main source of export earnings with $1.75 billion to contribute, with $389 million earned from mining, and $320.9 million from the industry sector.
