Ethiopia, Djibouti Agree to Strengthen Economic Ties

abiy-with-ismail-oguellehEthiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and Djiboutian President Ismael Omar Guelleh have discussed ways in which the two neighboring countries can strengthen their economic cooperation, as well as other issues of mutual concern. The two leaders "are committed to capitalizing on existing foundations for mutual prosperity," PM Abiy twitted.

Their discussions have encompassed strengthening economic ties, promoting trade and agricultural investments, scaling up joint infrastructure development, as well as cooperation opportunities in tourism and energy.

The leaders held discussions as President Ismael Omar Guelleh started his two-day official visit to Ethiopia yesterday, and "will continue exploring areas of mutual concern over the duration of the visit," Office of the Prime Minister related.
